The Last Man Standing – Former Aide To Tinubu Sends Heartfelt Birthday Message To President
Ajuri Ngelale, the former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has extended his heartfelt birthday wishes to the president as he celebrates his 73rd birthday. In a post shared on his handle on Saturday, Ngelale, who stepped down from his role in September 2024 to attend to family medical matters, expressed deep admiration and gratitude towards Tinubu, describing him as a significant mentor and guiding figure….READ MORE….
In his message, Ngelale referred to Tinubu as “the last man standing,” highlighting the president’s unwavering support even when all odds are against him. He emphasized that Tinubu’s mentorship has been instrumental in shaping his own understanding of leadership, teaching him that the true value of mentorship lies in passing wisdom on to future generations.
Ngelale reflected on his early days in the administration, noting that although he had only brief interactions with Tinubu before taking on his role, he quickly grew to see him not only as a leader but as a father figure. The former aide praised Tinubu for his ability to stand firm and triumph against challenges, both in politics and in personal endeavors.
In his tribute, Ngelale stated, “Daddy taught me that the cost and value of rigorous mentorship is the price of a glorious future, and that it is only paid back once it is paid forward to the next generation.” He also highlighted the president’s ability to navigate power dynamics with patience and strategic restraint, noting that Tinubu’s consistent persuasion based on genuine conviction is a key to overcoming opposition.
Further reflecting on his experiences, Ngelale expressed his gratitude for the invaluable wisdom he gained while working with the president, acknowledging Tinubu as one of Nigeria’s greatest reformers. He concluded his message by praying for Tinubu’s continued strength and divine wisdom to lead the country to greater heights.
It should be recalled that Ngelale stepped aside from his dual roles in the administration, with reports suggesting he became concerned about the possibility of being sidelined. After being asked to focus on his role in climate action and relinquish his media position, Ngelale reportedly sought to retain the media role while stepping down from the climate responsibility, but the presidency declined his request. This led to a series of events that left Ngelale unsettled, including being blocked from meeting with the president and being excluded from official delegations, such as the one to China.
