Nuno Espirito Santo has emphasized that Nottingham Forest will adopt a “no-excuses” approach for their upcoming Premier League clash against Manchester United on Tuesday, despite the fatigue from their recent FA Cup quarter-final against Brighton.

Ahead of the match against United, Forest manager Nuno stated that all players are being closely monitored, but he remains firm that the team’s pursuit of Champions League qualification will continue without delay.

Currently sitting third in the Premier League and five points ahead of fourth-placed Chelsea, Forest are on the brink of securing a spot in next season’s Champions League, with just nine games remaining.

Nuno made it clear that there will be no room for complacency:

“No excuses. Don’t give anyone excuses. We’ll assess the players, prepare for the game, and compete,” he said on Monday.

He acknowledged the challenge of managing the players’ recovery after a taxing FA Cup fixture but remains optimistic:

“It’s very demanding on the players, but they are recovering well and maintaining a positive attitude. We are confident that we can put up a strong performance against a quality team.”

Nuno added that the evening kick-off would provide extra time for the players to recover and finalize preparations.

Meanwhile, prolific striker Chris Wood remains doubtful for the clash against Manchester United due to a hip injury sustained while on international duty for New Zealand. Wood missed the match against Brighton and continues to undergo daily assessments.

“He is improving, getting better day by day. It’s all about him being pain-free and regaining fitness. He has a significant contusion, which is quite painful,” Nuno explained.

Despite the challenges, Nuno remains resolute that Forest will be ready to face Manchester United and continue their impressive campaign.
