Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, Amachree described the Rivers deployment as unnecessary, insisting that Borno State—with its daily reports of killings, kidnappings, and attacks by Boko Haram and ISWAP—is in dire need of military reinforcement.

“Our territorial integrity is under threat, and the reputational damage is high,” he warned. “Why are soldiers in Rivers when we need them desperately in Borno? That’s where a state of emergency is needed right now.”

He also stressed the importance of Governor Babagana Zulum’s recent alarm over the growing strength of terrorists in Borno, calling for the federal government to treat the situation with the urgency it deserves.
