Enang, a native of Ekori in the Yakurr Local Government Area, was attached to the Akim Police Division along IBB Way, Calabar. Known among friends as a die-hard Arsenal supporter, he had joined other fans at a local viewing centre on Abang-Asang Street to watch the Champions League clash.

Eyewitnesses say Inspector Enang was in high spirits throughout the match, cheering loudly with every goal Arsenal scored. “He was very excited,” one of his close friends said. “He kept jumping up, clapping, and shouting with joy. But after the final whistle, we noticed he didn’t get up like the rest of us.”

Concerned, his friends rushed to his side only to find him unresponsive. He was immediately taken to the Police Hospital in Akim, but efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Friends described Enang as calm, friendly, and full of life, especially when football was involved. “He loved Arsenal so much. Nobody saw this coming. It’s a huge shock,” his friend added, struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss.

Authorities are yet to officially confirm the cause of death, but the incident has left the local community deeply saddened.
