Tinubu Orders Construction of New APC National Secretariat in Abuja

President Bola Tinubu has unveiled plans to construct a new national secretariat for the All Progressives Congress (APC), signaling a fresh infrastructural direction for the ruling party.

According to iReporter Online, the announcement was made during the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja on Thursday. Tinubu tasked the APC National Working Committee (NWC), the Progressive Governors’ Forum, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, with collaborating on the project.

“We’ll look for an appropriate land to build a befitting secretariat,” the president declared during the meeting.

To ensure smooth execution, Tinubu directed the formation of a dedicated committee responsible for identifying a suitable location and overseeing the construction process.

The APC currently operates from its secretariat located at 40 Blantyre Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja. The new building is expected to reflect the evolving stature and organizational expansion of the party as it prepares for future political milestones.

Also at the event, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda was officially sworn in as the new National Chairman of the APC. His nomination by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma was seconded by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas.

Yilwatda, a former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and ex-APC gubernatorial candidate in Plateau State, replaces the outgoing chairman as part of a broader leadership restructuring.

The NEC meeting was attended by top-ranking officials including APC governors, National Assembly leaders, and other party stakeholders, as the party continues to shape its strategic direction ahead of the 2027 general elections.
