According to Ireporter Online, Aero Contractors has refunded over N257 million to passengers between January and August 2025, following complaints arising from flight delays, cancellations, and baggage-related issues. The figure represents a sharp increase of 137 percent compared to the same period in 2024.

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), in a statement, disclosed that the refunds underline the airline’s commitment to consumer protection and adherence to regulatory guidelines. Records show that the carrier refunded N257,195,724.39 in the first eight months of 2025, up from N108,308,037.40 during the same period in 2024, and N32,766,652.30 in 2023.

In addition to cash refunds, Aero Contractors also incurred over N6 million on hotel accommodations for stranded passengers between January and July 2025. Verified payments were made to several hotels, including Cocos Hotel, Grand Cubana Hotel in Abuja, NOCY Castle Hotel, Kim Royal Hotel, JC42 Apartment in Asaba, as well as Mayor & Diplomat Hotel in Lagos.

Aviation analysts note that while the figures highlight the airline’s responsiveness to passengers, they also underscore the operational challenges facing local carriers in Nigeria’s aviation industry.
