Army School Applauds Glo’s Bold Push For Education And Technology
The Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Signals, Major General Kennedy Osemwegie, has praised telecommunications giant Globacom for what he described as its “sustained commitment” to Nigeria’s development.
Osemwegie gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to Globacom’s corporate headquarters in Lagos, where he noted that the company, for over two decades, has consistently projected a Nigerian identity and “extended the frontiers of who a Nigerian should be through its Nigeria-centered focus.”
He stressed the importance of collaboration in deepening civil-military relations and expressed interest in working with Glo Foundation—the corporate social responsibility arm of the telecoms operator—to support the mandate of the signals training institution in academic and professional areas.
“The Nigerian Army School of Signals serves as the hub for ICT and communications training for Army personnel and some paramilitary organizations. We are exploring avenues of partnership with corporate institutions like Globacom to enhance our capacity to deliver on this mandate,” the commandant said.
Responding on behalf of the company’s management, Globacom’s Director of Strategy and Board Affairs, Mojisola Ashieru, reaffirmed the firm’s pride in being an indigenous brand dedicated to transforming lives across Nigeria. She assured the school of Globacom’s willingness to collaborate, highlighting the potential benefits of the company’s Smart Learning Suite, which includes a Learning Management System for digital content creation, live classes, online assessments, performance tracking, instant messaging, and video conferencing.
