“Stop Rejoicing Over Others’ Pain” — Kpokpogri Defends Regina Daniels, Ned Nwoko
Nigerian politician Prince Kpokpogri has condemned those publicly mocking the reported marital crisis between Nollywood actress Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
According to Ireporter Online, Kpokpogri, in a recent Instagram post, described the attitude of those celebrating the couple’s alleged misunderstanding as “unfortunate,” lamenting that many Nigerians seem to take delight in negative news, especially when it involves the private lives of public figures.
He drew parallels to his own past experience with actress Tonto Dikeh, recalling how people rejoiced over their conflict. Kpokpogri disclosed that he and Dikeh have since reconciled and maintained a cordial relationship, stressing that the public often thrives on controversy rather than compassion.
“When Tonto and I had our differences, many people celebrated and spread negativity. Today, we are good friends and have moved beyond those issues,” he said.
The politician further stated that the same pattern of behaviour is now being directed at Senator Nwoko and his wife, noting that instead of showing empathy or offering prayers for their reconciliation, some individuals appear to derive satisfaction from their difficulties.
He questioned whether those mocking the Nwokos were without personal or family challenges of their own, suggesting that envy and idle chatter often fuel such behaviour.
Kpokpogri expressed optimism that the couple would overcome their current challenges, describing Ned Nwoko as a “good man who prioritises his family above all else.” He urged the public to cultivate a culture of support rather than ridicule during people’s trying times.
