Police Break Silence On Regina Daniels’ Brother’s Arrest, Reveal Abuja Connection
The Lagos State Police Command has addressed widespread reports regarding the arrest of Samuel Daniels, brother to popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels. According to Ireporter Online, the clarification came after social media was awash with claims that Lagos police officers had detained Samuel in connection with the ongoing controversy involving his family and Senator Ned Nwoko.
The Command explained that Samuel’s arrest was not carried out by its operatives but by a team of officers from Abuja, who arrived in Lagos with a duly signed warrant to execute their assignment. It further clarified that Samuel was only held briefly at the Ogombo Police Division because the arrest took place late at night before he was transferred out of the state for further investigation.
The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Superintendent of Police Abimbola Adebisi, stated that the Command was not directly involved in the arrest, emphasizing that the officers from Abuja were acting within the authority of a legitimate court order.
Adebisi noted, “The individual in question was not arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command. The officers who carried out the arrest came from Abuja with a duly signed arrest warrant. He was only kept at Ogombo Division temporarily due to the late hour, pending further procedural action.”
The clarification followed public accusations made by Regina Daniels’ elder brother, Lawrence Daniels, who alleged that Senator Ned Nwoko was behind what he described as acts of harassment against their family. Lawrence had also posted online that the senator should be held accountable if anything happened to his siblings.
As of the time of filing this report, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has yet to release an official statement or provide details regarding the reason for Samuel Daniels’ arrest.
