According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian music executive Soso Soberekon recently recounted a tense moment in his neighborhood when a helicopter flew low over his residence, causing widespread panic among residents.

In a post shared via his Instagram story, Soberekon revealed that the sudden sound and sight of the aircraft sent people running indoors in fear, as many believed that American soldiers had landed in Nigeria amid growing international unease.

He wrote humorously, “Helicopter fly pass my compound today, everybody run enter house. We think say American soldiers don come already.”

This reaction reportedly came shortly after escalating global discussions following U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent warning about potential military intervention in Nigeria. Trump had accused the Nigerian government of failing to protect Christians from extremist attacks and announced plans to designate the country as one of “Particular Concern” over alleged religious persecution.

The American president further threatened to suspend all forms of aid to Nigeria and hinted at possible military involvement if the government failed to address the killings, a statement that has sparked widespread international debate.

However, Nigerian authorities swiftly dismissed Trump’s claims, labeling them as inaccurate and exaggerated. Government officials clarified that the ongoing violence in the country affects both Christians and Muslims alike, emphasizing that the conflicts are largely fueled by terrorism, banditry, and farmer-herder disputes rather than religious hostility.
