Police Nab Two Suspects In Brutal K!ll!ng Of 62-Year-Old Woman
According to Ireporter Online, two suspects have been apprehended in connection with the murder of a 62-year-old woman in Ori-Apata Oderemi, Ido, Ibadan, Oyo State. The woman’s body was discovered after approximately seven days in a bush path within the community.
Spokesperson for the Oyo State Police Command, Ayanlade Olayinka, confirmed that the deceased was found lying in a pool of blood with a deep cut on her neck. The body was immediately taken to the Adeoyo General Hospital morgue for autopsy and post-mortem examination to determine the precise cause of death.
Preliminary investigations led to the arrest of two suspects, identified as Muhammed Sanusi, 42, and Ogbu James Ajah, 40, both residents of Ori-Apata. They are currently assisting police with ongoing investigations while authorities work to apprehend any additional accomplices.
Olayinka stated that the scene was secured and processed by forensic experts to collect evidence critical to solving the case. The investigation has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further inquiries.
The incident initially sparked protests by family members and sympathizers, but law enforcement, in collaboration with the local government, intervened promptly to prevent escalation and restore order. Joint patrols and strategic security deployments have been initiated to maintain peace and reassure residents.
The Commissioner of Police, Femi Haruna, together with a high-level delegation from the Oyo State government, visited the community to assess the situation and offer condolences to the bereaved family. The police command emphasized that all efforts are being made to ensure justice is served and called on the public to remain calm, law-abiding, and to provide any credible information that may assist the investigation.
