According to Ireporter Online, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has explained that the party is currently tolerating and accommodating the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, due to existing political understandings between the ruling APC and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Tuesday after a meeting with APC stakeholders, Yilwatda noted that the party’s cooperation with Wike is based on an agreement that allows him to operate within a working arrangement involving both the APC and the PDP, following formal approval reportedly obtained from his party before taking up his ministerial role.

The APC chairman also expressed concern over rising tensions within the party in the Federal Capital Territory, particularly between founding members and some defectors from the PDP, whom he accused of attempting to dominate the party structure. He urged long-standing members of the APC not to allow internal pressure or external influence to weaken their standing within the party.
