Nigerian Air Force Strikes Insurgents’ Hideouts In North-East In Fresh Air Raids

According to Ireporter Online, the Nigerian Air Force has successfully destroyed terrorist hideouts in Ali Sheriffti, a known insurgent enclave in the southern Tumbuns axis of Nigeria’s North-East, in a precision air operation conducted on April 24.

The Air Force confirmed that the operation was executed following credible intelligence on heightened insurgent activity in the area. Military air assets reportedly carried out sustained surveillance, during which armed individuals were observed moving through concealed routes and later traced to structures hidden under dense vegetation, believed to be used as operational shelters to avoid detection.

After positively identifying the targets, the Air Force launched a coordinated and precise aerial bombardment, striking the locations with onboard munitions. The military said the operation successfully destroyed the identified structures, significantly degrading the insurgents’ operational capability and restricting their freedom of movement within the region.

The Air Force spokesperson, Ehimen Ejodame, noted that the mission reflects ongoing intelligence-driven and precision-focused operations aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and denying them safe havens. He added that the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has reaffirmed the military’s commitment to sustaining aggressive operations against insurgent groups.

Military authorities further assured that air operations would be intensified in the coming weeks to strengthen national security and safeguard lives and property, particularly in volatile regions such as the Lake Chad basin, which has remained a hotspot for insurgent activity due to its difficult terrain and thick vegetation cover.
