According to Ireporter Online, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the resumption of the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Chairman of the INEC Information and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Kudu Haruna, the Commission disclosed that the third and final phase of the CVR will commence on Monday, 11 May 2026 and conclude on Friday, 10 July 2026.

The electoral body urged eligible Nigerians who have attained 18 years of age, as well as those who were unable to complete their registration during earlier phases, to make use of the opportunity to register. It also encouraged already registered voters seeking to transfer their registration, replace lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), or correct their personal details to access the Commission’s online portal or visit INEC offices nationwide.

Haruna further stated that, as part of preparations for the 2027 polls, the Commission will display the Register of Voters for public scrutiny, claims, and objections from Thursday, 23 July to Wednesday, 29 July 2026, allowing citizens to verify and raise concerns where necessary to ensure accuracy and credibility.
