Tinubu Hails Oyebanji’s Landslide Re-Election Victory
President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji on securing victory in the state’s governorship election held on Saturday, describing the outcome as a reflection of the confidence reposed in his administration by the people of the state.
In a statement issued by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, the President commended residents of Ekiti State for conducting themselves peacefully throughout the electoral process and for endorsing Oyebanji’s leadership with a fresh mandate.
Tinubu also lauded security agencies for ensuring a peaceful atmosphere during the election and maintaining law and order across the state.
The President urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to sustain efforts toward delivering peaceful, transparent and credible elections, particularly ahead of the forthcoming Osun governorship election and next year’s general elections.
Reflecting on Oyebanji’s first term in office, Tinubu noted that the governor had recorded notable achievements in key sectors, including infrastructure, agriculture, education, healthcare, youth empowerment and rural development through the implementation of the BAO agenda.
He described the governor’s re-election as a strong endorsement of continuity, stability and governance focused on the welfare of the people.
Tinubu further advised the governor to remain inclusive in his leadership approach by carrying all segments of the state along, regardless of political affiliations. He also appealed to other candidates who participated in the election to support the governor in advancing the development of Ekiti State.
The President reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to working closely with the Ekiti State Government to deliver greater developmental benefits and improve the lives of citizens.
