Officer Woos Debunks Drug Arrest Allegation, Warns Of Legal Action Over False Claims
Content creator Jubril Oladapo Gbadamosi, popularly known as Officer Woos, has strongly denied viral allegations claiming he was arrested for drug trafficking and that he publicly announced the death of a colleague on his social media platforms.
According to a statement issued on June 19, 2026, by his legal representatives, Versed Attorneys, the claims were described as “entirely false, fabricated, and without any basis whatsoever.” The law firm further alleged that the misinformation was circulated by anonymous accounts on X as part of a coordinated attempt to damage his reputation.
The disputed claims included assertions that Gbadamosi had been in custody since 2025 over alleged drug-related offences and that he had used his official pages to announce the death of an associate. The legal team categorically rejected both allegations, insisting that the content creator has never been arrested, investigated, or linked to drug trafficking in any capacity, nor has he made any such death announcement.
The statement read in part that the publications were deliberately engineered to mislead the public and tarnish Gbadamosi’s professional image, adding that the allegations constitute defamation under Nigerian law and violate provisions of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Act.
The firm demanded an immediate and unconditional retraction of the claims from all individuals and platforms involved, alongside a public apology issued within 48 hours on the same channels where the allegations were originally published.
It further warned that failure to comply would result in legal proceedings, including civil action for defamation and petitions to relevant law enforcement agencies and regulatory bodies.
The attorneys also urged the public, media outlets, and fans to disregard the rumours and rely only on verified information from official channels.
Officer Woos remains one of Nigeria’s most popular skit makers, with a strong presence across Instagram, X, and YouTube, where he is widely known for his comedy content.
