I Wanted To Say…”—Lady Sends ₦50k To Younger Sister, Reveals Heartbreaking Outcome
A Nigerian lady has recounted a painful emotional experience after sending ₦50,000 to her younger sister despite having competing personal financial priorities.
According to Ireporter Online, the lady, identified on X as @Miss-Remi, revealed that she initially had ₦100,000 in her account and was considering several personal expenses, including academic-related payments and a planned purchase of a chair worth ₦45,000, as well as a visit to her favourite restaurant.
However, she said her plans shifted after she received a WhatsApp message from her younger sister requesting ₦50,000 as allowance and contribution for a school project.
In her words, she decided to send the money, later spending additional funds on data subscription and renewing her X platform subscription, leaving her with about ₦24,000 to manage.
She wrote: “I sent lil sis her 50k. Bought data 20k. Renewed sub. And I’m left with 24k to manage, I can’t leave my acct entirely empty.”
Following the transaction, she later asked her sister what she was eating, to which the younger sibling reportedly replied that she was having shawarma and parfait with the money she received.
Reacting emotionally, she admitted that while she was not angry, she felt a deep sense of disappointment and sympathy for herself, saying, “I don’t know how to feel. I’m not angry. But I feel sorry for myself.”
The post has since sparked reactions online, with many users sharing mixed opinions about financial responsibility and family obligations.
