Uzodimma Breaks Silence After Closed-Door Meeting With Tinubu
Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has disclosed details of his meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, revealing that their discussions focused on critical national issues, including security, economic reforms, infrastructure development and strategies for advancing the country’s growth.
According to Ireporter Online, Uzodimma, while speaking with journalists after the meeting on Wednesday, said both leaders reviewed the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to improve security, strengthen the economy and fast-track development across Nigeria.
The governor congratulated President Tinubu on the successful rescue of the schoolchildren abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, describing the operation as a clear demonstration of the administration’s determination to safeguard lives and intensify the fight against insecurity nationwide.
He also applauded the President over the recent rise in Nigeria’s crude oil production, noting that the improvement would increase government revenue, support economic stability and provide more resources for national development.
Uzodimma reaffirmed his support for the creation of state police, stressing that decentralising policing would enhance intelligence gathering, complement the operations of federal security agencies and enable state governments to respond more effectively to local security threats.
The governor further briefed President Tinubu on the infrastructure and development projects being executed by his administration in Imo State, explaining that the initiatives are improving living standards, expanding connectivity and creating new economic opportunities for residents, businesses and investors.
He maintained that the projects align with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda by promoting inclusive economic growth and sustainable development.
Uzodimma also extended an invitation to President Tinubu to visit Imo State to inaugurate completed projects delivered by his administration, expressing confidence that such a visit would deepen cooperation between the Federal Government and the state in driving more developmental initiatives.
