There was an emotional atmosphere in the MasterChef Nigeria kitchen as fan favourite David was eliminated from the competition, bringing his journey to an end in one of the season’s most touching moments. His exit leaves Fads and Favy as the final two contestants battling for the grand prize of N73 million.

According to Ireporter Online, the Top 3 contestants faced a crucial challenge as the grand finale drew closer. They were welcomed into the kitchen with an elegant dining setup and a signature dish prepared by Chef Eros and Chef Stone. After tasting the meal alongside the judges, the contestants were tasked with recreating the dish with precision and creativity to secure a place in the final.

With Favy’s immunity advantage no longer in play, all three competitors entered the challenge on equal terms. Chef Stone encouraged them to remain focused, warning that accuracy would be key as the clock began counting down.

Fads delivered an outstanding performance, showcasing confidence, technical skill and creativity. Her dish impressed the judges with its presentation, balance and execution, earning her the coveted Dish of the Day and the first spot in the grand finale.

Favy also impressed the judges with a strong performance, producing a dish praised for its flavour and her ability to remain composed under pressure, securing her place among the final two contestants.

However, David struggled to fully execute his concept despite giving his all during the challenge. The judges noted that his risotto lacked the desired texture, while his duck dish fell short in flavour, leading to his elimination at the most critical stage of the competition.

Following the announcement, David became emotional as he reflected on his MasterChef journey and the progress he had made throughout the competition. His reaction created one of the most memorable moments of the season, with Favy also overwhelmed by the emotional scene despite earning her place in the finale.

According to Ireporter Online, David’s journey did not end with his elimination. Recognising his passion, dedication and potential, the judges described him as a “diamond in the rough” and awarded him a remarkable opportunity — a fully sponsored six-month professional training programme at Chef Stone’s Red Dish culinary school, followed by a paid six-month internship at Chef Eros’s Ile Eros restaurant.
