Peter Obi Faces Petition Over Alleged False Identity Flight Assistance
An aviation worker has petitioned relevant authorities, calling for an investigation into alleged breaches of aviation security procedures and passenger identification protocols involving former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and a female passenger said to be one of his media aides.
According to Ireporter Online, the allegations were contained in a petition submitted to authorities, including the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The claims, however, have not been independently verified, and Obi had not publicly responded to the allegations at the time of filing this report.
The petitioner alleged that the female passenger had previously been restricted from travelling with Air Peace following claims of misconduct and repeated confrontations at airports.
The petition further claimed that despite the alleged restriction, the passenger continued to fly on the airline using different names, with Obi allegedly accompanying her on some trips and making arrangements that allowed her to bypass the airline’s decision.
The petitioner argued that such actions, if proven true, could undermine aviation security measures and affect the effectiveness of passenger verification procedures.
According to the petition, airport personnel allegedly faced difficulties carrying out proper identity checks whenever Obi travelled with the passenger, despite concerns reportedly raised by airline staff.
The aviation worker claimed that records of flight tickets and Passenger Name Records (PNRs) were attached to the petition as evidence, alleging that Obi’s name appeared on some of the travel documents involving the passenger.
The petitioner urged aviation authorities and security agencies to investigate whether passenger identification rules were violated and determine if false names were used to obtain flight tickets after the passenger’s alleged restriction.
The petition also called for a review of the circumstances surrounding the alleged incidents and for appropriate action if any breaches of aviation regulations were established.
