Wike Fires Back: “Show Evidence Against My Roads, I’ll Quit In 48 Hours

According to Ireporter Online, Wike made the declaration during the commissioning of the reconstructed Arab/Gbazango Road in Kubwa, located in the Bwari Area Council of the FCT, where he highlighted the administration’s infrastructure achievements across the satellite towns.

The minister stated that his administration had awarded 317 kilometres of road projects within the satellite towns, with 221 kilometres already completed, insisting that residents had begun to experience the impact of improved governance.

Wike challenged anyone with a contrary opinion to appear on national television within 48 hours and provide proof that the projects were either not awarded or not completed as stated.

He said, “If there is anybody who has a contrary view, let him come out and challenge us that all these that you are saying is not correct, I will resign as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.”

The FCT minister further explained that major road projects, including the Apo–Karshi and Bwari–Kubwa roads, are expected to be completed before the end of the year, adding that the developments would further improve connectivity and infrastructure in the satellite communities.

Wike maintained that residents of the satellite towns had benefited significantly from the current administration’s focus on infrastructure, describing the projects as unprecedented compared to previous administrations.

He reiterated his challenge to critics, urging any group or individual who disagrees with his claims to publicly present evidence within the given timeframe.
