Police Rescue Baby Girl Dumped Inside Carton In Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has rescued a newborn baby girl who was allegedly abandoned inside a carton along a road in Galadima, Abuja.

According to reports, the infant was discovered inside the carton before police authorities were alerted and moved in to rescue her.

The incident has raised fresh concerns over the growing cases of abandoned children in the Federal Capital Territory, with reports indicating that the latest case is the third abandoned baby discovered in the FCT within the past two weeks.

The spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, SP Joseph Adeh, expressed concern over the development and called for an end to the abandonment of children and the exposure of vulnerable minors to danger.

The police appealed to members of the public with useful information about the identity or whereabouts of the baby’s family members to come forward and assist with the investigation.

Authorities are expected to continue efforts to trace the circumstances surrounding the abandonment and identify those responsible.
