In recent days, the LP has been embroiled in a slew of financial impropriety, putting the party under the microscope of Nigerians in terms of transparency, competency, and prudence.

Their internal crisis ranges from outright misappropriation of party funds to alleged embezzlement of mobilisation fees from supporters.

Many party members have withdrawn their support for the party as a result of the numerous scandals.
