‘It’s Indirect War’, Russia Faults US Aid To Ukraine After Zelensky’s Visit

Following President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to meet US President Joe Biden and Congress, Russia has accused the US of waging a “indirect war” against it over the supply of Patriot missile systems to Ukraine.

According to Reuters, Zelensky visited Washington on Thursday, his first trip out of Ukraine since the Russian invasion, and the US pledged an additional $1.85 billion in training and other munitions.

The US also promised to send Ukraine its most advanced and sought-after air defense weapon, the Patriot missile system, to counter Russian air attacks.

Reacting to the military aid, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that there has been no signs of readiness for peace talks during Zelensky’s visit.

He also said that the meeting was evidence that the US was fighting a proxy war with Russia “to the last Ukrainian”, adding that both Zelensky and Biden did not want to hear “Russia’s concerns.”
