The allegations against them involve operating an international sextortion scheme, where they posed as a woman, and tragically, this led to the death of a 17-year-old named Jordan DeMay from Marquette in the Upper Peninsula. The young man died by self-inflicted gunshot on March 25, 2022, reportedly as a result of their actions.
The charges they are facing include conspiracy to sexually exploit minors, conspiracy to distribute child pornography, and conspiracy to commit stalking through the internet.
Additionally, Samuel Ogoshi faces individual charges of sexual exploitation of a minor resulting in death and attempted sexual exploitation of a minor resulting in death. The indictment against the two men was issued in May.
