2023: Asake Speaks On Working For APC
Mr Jonathan Asake, the Labour Party (LP2023 )’s gubernatorial candidate in Kaduna State, says he is not in the race to derail the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) chances of defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
According to him, “My aspiration to be a governor is not a joke, I am a serious contender for Sir Kashim Ibrahim House and remained highly optimistic to win the election next year.”
Speaking to the political committee panel of the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) on Tuesday in Kaduna, he said he has what it takes to get the people of the state out of their current predicament.

The gubernatorial candidate stated that he had heard a strange rumour that he only wanted to block the PDP in order for the APC to win, which he denied.
He asked, “If the PDP truly believed that Southern Senatorial zone is theirs why have they not zoned the party’s governorship ticket to the zone since 1999?”
He explained that now that the LP has zoned the governorship to the southern senatorial zone, the PDP has become nervous and is spreading misinformation about his candidacy.
Mr Asake lamented that he would not be deterred by such misbehavior, assuring that he is focused on winning and that, by God’s grace, he will be the next Governor of Kaduna State.
