Simon Lalong

Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong stated on Monday that presidential candidates who launch their campaigns in the state are more likely to become the country’s president.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) will launch its 2023 election campaign in Jos, the state capital, on Tuesday.

The governor made the remarks while inspecting the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos, which will host the campaign kick-off.

He expressed confidence that the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, would continue the trend in next year’s election.

“MKO Abiola began his campaign in Jos and won, as did former President Olusegun Obasanjo,” Lalong said.

“We believe history will repeat itself, and Tinubu will be elected president.”

He thanked APC leaders for selecting Plateau as the location for the campaign kickoff.

The governor stated that the state government had completed all preparations for the state’s hosting of President Muhammadu Buhari, APC National Chairman Abdullahi Adamu, and other prominent members of the party.
