54-Year-Old Man Arraigned For Allegedly Murdering His Wife In Ebonyi

He instructed the police to forward the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for further guidance. The case has been adjourned until December 31 for additional hearings.

During the proceedings, Prosecutor Emmanuel Monday informed the court that the alleged offense took place on September 4, at 60 Ogbaga Road, Kpirikpiri, in the Abakaliki Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Monday claimed that Chima caused the death of his wife by beating her with iron rods, leading to her fatal injuries. He noted that this offense is punishable under Section 319 (1) of the Criminal Code Law, Cap 33, Vol 1, Laws of Ebonyi, 2009.

Defense counsel Daniel Onuoha requested bail for his client, but the request was denied as the court lacks jurisdiction over the case.
