In a related development, a tanker carrying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) exploded in Ibadan, killing the driver and injuring one other person.

According to Yemi Akinyinka, General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency, the incident occurred around Fijabi House on the Ojoo/Iwo Road Expressway. The tanker reportedly lost control, colliding with two trucks before overturning into a pit, leading to a massive blaze.

Emergency services quickly responded to the 2:45 a.m. distress call, containing the fire and preventing its spread to nearby homes. Tragically, the driver was burned to death, while a motor boy was rescued and taken to the University College Hospital, Ibadan, for treatment.
