Senator Monday Okpebholo, popularly known as Akpakomiza, graced the momentous occasion of the 25th priestly anniversary and book launch of Very Rev Fr Dr Theophilus Idebaneria Itaman at the esteemed Lumen Christi International High School in Uromi.

His visit was highlighted by a remarkable act of kindness, as he contributed to the event by providing 10 computers and laptops.

At the gathering, Senator Okpebholo boldly tackled crucial matters impacting the state. He expressed worries about how funds were being allocated and used, specifically taking aim at Governor Godwin Obaseki, accusing him of mishandling resources. The Senator directly confronted the governor over allegations of mishandling a 5-billion-naira federal government relief fund intended for addressing fuel subsidy removal.

He vehemently labeled this allocation as a “total scam,” asserting that this colossal amount should have been allocated to address the state’s deteriorating road infrastructure instead.

Senator Okpebholo went further to highlight the urgency of the matter, citing his concern about the persisting neglect of road repairs while emphasizing the significant financial resources spent on alternative ventures.

According to his claims, over the past three months, a staggering 7 billion naira had been allocated solely to procure diesel for the Edo City Transport Service, which he adamantly believes should have been directed towards critical road rehabilitation projects across the state.

His outspoken critique echoed a call for accountability and efficient resource allocation in governance, urging a shift towards prioritizing infrastructure development for the betterment of the community.
