Akwa-Ibom Poly in Shock: Five Students Killed by Heartless Robbers in Deadly Ambush!

The students of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic in Ikot Ekpene have protested over the growing insecurity in the area, which has led to the deaths of five of their peers in the past year due to violent robberies. The students, who gathered early in the morning at the school gate, held placards calling for an end to police brutality and the protection of students. They expressed frustration over the inaction of the police in curbing these violent crimes while allegedly harassing students for money. George emphasized that students, particularly those living off-campus, are in constant danger.

In response, the Akwa Ibom State Police Commissioner invited the students to a meeting to address their concerns, urging them to refrain from further protests. The students, however, remained resolute, insisting that they would not back down until their safety is ensured.
