APC Chairmanship: An Open Letter To Delegates On The Need To Endorse Saliu Mustapha

Dear Delegates to the forthcoming APC national congress,

My name is Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah and I am from the Niger Delta region, Edo State to be precise. I choose this means to reach out because of the effectiveness of such a letter. I see it as a privilege and an honour.

I am writing to you all to appeal to your consciences on the need for the All Progressives Congress to elect the right chairman in the forthcoming national congress.

Nigerians are a bit sceptical over our political leadership and electoral process and if we must speak truth to ourselves the hope of a better Nation still lies in the process of producing credible representatives. The endpoint of any political organization is to meet the expectations of the citizens.

As the ruling political party with a sound majority across the 36 states, it would be fairly right to say that the lives and livelihoods of millions of Nigerians lie in the hands of the APC, Nigerians are interested in who becomes your leaders.

The least you can offer Nigerians is to bequeath a sound leadership that would drive the party to greatness and above all meet the HEAP of expectations of Nigerians.

In considering your national chairman the following references should be a CRITERION.

Integrity, Commitment, Passion to serve and the ability to solve party squabbles without interfering with governance which in turn reflects on the masses.

One of the problems that have always been associated with political parties in Nigeria is the imposition of candidates at the detriment of competency and ability to deliver, the APC should be seen as a party that is sourcing for credible hands to serve Nigerians.

We are tired of leaderships that come on board and start endless wars with perceived political adversaries, It is high time your party produces a focussed strategic planner that would formulate a mission plan to ameliorate the plights of the people and follow it up with visionary leadership.

I am an avid believer in getting the foundations right to achieve success in any field of play, with the right political leadership Nigerians would have no cause for lamentations.

I and millions of Nigerians have seen a bright hope in one of your aspirants contesting for the national chairmanship of the APC, Mallam Saliu Mustapha who happens to be the Turaki of Ilorin.

His antecedents are a sure prerequisite of his leadership capabilities, we only hope and appeal that his aspirations see the light of the day with your endorsement.

Using your prerogatives in electing the best hand for your party’s top job would go a long way in reposing confidence in millions of Nigerians.
