APC: Why We Want Saliu Mustapha As Our Next National Chairman- Party Members Speak Up Ahead Of Congress

This month of February would undoubtedly host one of the biggest political events of the year, maybe second only to the presidential primaries of the political parties that would be coming up towards the end of the year.

The APC national congress slated for February 26th would unveil the next national chairman of the most significant political party in Africa and it would surely be the biggest event that would be held for the first quarter of this year.

Already Abuja is experiencing so much fanfare and expectations ahead of the historic day, who gets crowned as the next face of APC?

Well, party members across the federation have opened up on their fears and consideration and why there is the need for the party to carry Nigerians along in electing a credible and competent hand to lead the party.

Amidst the apprehensions of party stakeholders of a clean and transparent electoral process, there is the need for the party to produce a product that is free from intricate controversies that may be subject to giving the party a discredited look ahead of the coming general elections in 2023.

It is more like an integrity test of “show me your leader and I would tell you what the party can do for Nigerians.” If the head is bad the body then must follow suit.

Here is a short compilation of what APC members are saying about frontline aspirant, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, the Turaki of Ilorin.

I have heard of and known Mallam Saliu Mustapha since our days in the ANPP as a member of the Buhari Organisation (TBO). Our paths however crossed on a personal level when he became Deputy National Chairman Of Congress For Progressive Change(CPC). In CPC, he was the “go-to person” in the resolution of major issues in the party. In the short period of the formation of CPC leading to the 2011 general elections, his administrative skills and experience were not in doubt leading to the success of the party in the North Central Zone of the party especially in Nassarawa State producing the only Governor of the party.

Out of all the aspirants contesting for the position of National Chairman of our great party, All Progressives Congress(APC) Alhaji Saliu Mustapha, Turaki Ilorin is the only one with cognate administrative national experience and capabilities to occupy the position of National Chairman at these defining moments in our party.-Chief Eddy Osa Ogunbor, APC national chieftain.
