Blaqbonez laments Poor Industry Support After Dropping “Chanel

According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has expressed frustration over what he described as a lack of support and unity within the music industry following the release of his latest single, “Chanel.”

The ‘Chanel’ crooner, in a post shared on X, criticised what he called the “wickedness” and ego-driven nature of the industry, alleging that many artists fail to show the same level of support they receive from him. He noted that he regularly promotes songs from fellow musicians, including international acts such as Drake, Central Cee, Future, and Gunna, by sharing their work on his social media platforms.

However, Blaqbonez claimed that despite his consistent support for others, he has not received similar backing since dropping his new track. He specifically pointed out that none of his peers had publicly promoted “Chanel,” describing the situation as disappointing and reflective of double standards in the industry.

The rapper further lamented that while he actively supports other artists during their releases, his own project has been met with silence from colleagues, which he believes highlights a lack of reciprocity and fairness among industry peers. His comments have since sparked conversations online about solidarity and competitiveness within the Nigerian music scene.
