BREAKING: Ortom’s Convoy Involved In Accident (DETAILS)

On Friday, the convoy of Benue Governor Samuel Ortom was involved in an accident in the Utokon community of the state’s Ado Local Government Area.

The unfortunate incident occurred as Ortom and his entourage were on their way to the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) governorship campaign rally in Igumale, Ado’s headquarters.

According to Daily Trust, the driver of a PDP-filled bus lost control and collided with a Jeep, a security vehicle, and another bus in the governor’s convoy.

At least two members of the State House of Assembly from Guma and Kwande West were hurt.

A few other vehicles were also involved in the incident, which occurred at 10:50 a.m. on Friday.

The convoy’s motorcade included the state’s deputy governor, Engr Benson Abounu, Senator Abba Moro, House of Representatives and House of Assembly members from Benue’s south district, as well as other top government and party officials.

Meanwhile, the injured were immediately transported to the hospital by a state government ambulance in the convoy.
