Western Nigeria Security Network, popularly known as Amotekun, the Commission highlighted its achievements as a pivotal milestone in Nigeria’s security landscape.

Dr. Seye Oyeleye, the Director-General of DAWN, praised Amotekun as a trailblazer in community policing, highlighting its significant success in enhancing regional security and integration across the Southwest region.

“Amotekun has silenced critics and exceeded expectations, dispelling fears of misuse for political or ethnic purposes,” Oyeleye stated.

He lauded the security outfit for maintaining professionalism and fostering trust among communities by protecting all residents, regardless of their ethnicity or political affiliations.

The DAWN Commission reiterated its call for a decentralized policing system to replicate Amotekun’s success nationwide, ensuring improved security and stronger community engagement across Nigeria.
