Dangote Surprises Cement Distributors With ₦15B In Gifts

Billionaire industrialist Aliko Dangote has rewarded the top distributors and customers of Dangote Cement Plc with gifts valued at ₦15 billion, in recognition of their loyalty, resilience, and exceptional performance. The announcement was made during the company’s 2026 Distributors’ Awards Night, held in Lagos.

Recipients of the awards received a range of prizes, including cash, cement containers, high-end SUVs, and CNG-powered trucks, all amounting to a total value of ₦15 billion.

Addressing attendees at the ceremony, Dangote described the distributors as the backbone of the company, commending their dedication to ensuring Dangote products reach communities across Nigeria. He added that their hard work and engagement with customers translate the company’s strategies into tangible results. “Today’s celebration, themed ‘Partner for Growth,’ reflects the progress of our growth journey for 2026,” he said.

Dangote also reiterated the company’s Vision 2030 strategy, which aims to transform the Dangote Group into a $100 billion enterprise by 2030. The strategy emphasizes industrial expansion, cross-border investments, and enhancing Africa’s self-sufficiency in key sectors such as energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure.

He revealed plans to expand the group’s cement production capacity to approximately 90 million tonnes by 2030. “Our ambition extends beyond factories; we aim to build Africa’s capacity to feed itself, power its economy, develop its people, and drive sustainable industrialization,” Dangote said.

Highlighting other projects under Vision 2030, Dangote noted the expansion of the petroleum refinery from 650,000 to 1.4 million barrels per day, the growth of the fertiliser plant to 12 million metric tonnes annually, and increased production at the polypropylene plant. “Vision 2030, part of our Africa First initiative, stems from my belief that Africa’s future will be built by Africans who dream big, work hard, and never stop believing in what is possible,” he added.
