Delta PDP : Group Wants Immediate Compliance To Court Judgement On Governorship Candidature

A Youth Group under the aegis of Concerned Deltans For Good Governance has called on the leadership of the People Democratic Party, PDP, to immediately implement the Federal High Court judgement of recognizing David Edevbie as the Governorship Candidate of the Party in Delta State.

They made the call during a protest at the PDP Secretariat in Abuja.

Addressing journalists, the leader of the Group, Comrade Chris Anthony, expressed displeasure that weeks after the judgement, the Leadership of the party had not submitted the Candidate’s name to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

” The court judgement, delivered on the 7th of last month has not been complied with. We are not living in a banana republic, a judgement has been delivered and we expect Ayu to implement it”.

“They are playing games with the judgement, the party is supposed to forward the name of the winner to INEC according to the court order, but they are yet to do that”.

If you can’t address the minor problem in Delta, how can you address the greater Nigerian problems? We are calling them to obey the court order.

Comrade Anthony alleged that such action could have negative implications in the forth coming General election.

” The implications are that the fortunes of PDP in Delta State would be traded in favour of the opposition, PDP is the major Party in Delta State, but Ayu seems to be a mole in PDP”

“He lacks the capacity to lead the PDP, and so, he should honorably resign , as he has demonstrated gross incompetence”.

The Youths carried play cards with various inscriptions such as: “BOT Help Delta PDP Before NWC Kills The Party”, “No Judiciary, No Democracy”, and “Save Delta PDP ”
