abuse of the naira at his wedding to Amina Babagana Zannah in Kano.
This follows a viral video showing guests spraying naira notes, sparking public outrage and drawing attention to the EFCC’s ongoing campaign against currency abuse.
In a statement, EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, confirmed that the naira abuse incident did not occur at the wedding of Fauziya Danjuma Goje, as initially reported, but rather at Zannah’s wedding, hosted by her mother, Hajara Seidu Haruna (also known as Hafsat Gold Nigeria), CEO of Hafsat Jewellery Enterprise.
According to Oyewale, the groom’s family from Niger Republic was seen spraying naira and dollar bills during the celebration. The EFCC emphasized its commitment to enforcing currency regulations, stating it would take action against violators, regardless of their nationality or status.
