Residents of Ikogosi in Ekiti West Local Government Area came out early on Saturday at the polling unit of Governor Biodun Oyebanji as voting began in the Ekiti State governorship election.

According to Ireporter Online, at Ward 6, Polling Unit 003, situated opposite the governor’s family compound in Okelele, eligible voters were observed verifying their names on the electoral register in preparation to cast their ballots.

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission arrived at the polling centre ahead of the exercise, where they sensitised voters on the voting process before accreditation and voting commenced around 8:30 a.m. The officials also assured residents that all necessary electoral materials had been deployed to ensure a smooth and credible process.

One of the voters, identified simply as Aduke, confirmed that her details were found on the register and expressed readiness to participate in the election, noting that she had fulfilled her civic responsibility and hoped for a large turnout from other residents.
