The victims, Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Samuel Olusola, and Elesun of Esun Ekiti, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsola, were ambushed and killed by armed men as they returned from a meeting, while the Alara of Ara-Ekiti, Oba Adebayo Fatoba, narrowly escaped the attack.
Governor Oyebanji strongly condemned the heinous act and assured the state’s citizens that the government would spare no effort in uncovering the truth behind the incident. Security agents have been deployed to the area to investigate and apprehend the perpetrators. The governor, who chaired a state security council meeting just an hour before the incident, emphasized that justice must prevail in this matter.
In a statement, Governor Oyebanji extended heartfelt condolences to the affected communities, urging residents to remain calm and avoid vigilantism. He assured them of the government’s commitment to ensuring justice and urged security agencies to stay vigilant in their fight against crime.
