Emotional Tribute As Adelabu Reveals Deep Connection With Late Ajimobi

According to Ireporter Online, former Minister of Power and 2027 Oyo State governorship aspirant, Bayo Adelabu, has paid glowing tribute to the late former Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, describing him as a “magnetized leader” who offered clear direction, strong mentorship, and purposeful political guidance.

Adelabu stated that Ajimobi played a pivotal role in shaping the political paths of many individuals, including himself, noting that his entry into politics was inspired by the late governor’s leadership style and governance approach. He further explained that his relationship with Ajimobi was deeply personal, likening it to that of a son and a father, while commending his ability to unify and stabilize the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State during his tenure.

He added that Ajimobi’s administration was defined by decisive action, particularly in addressing security, infrastructure, and education challenges, stressing that the late governor maintained a firm stance on crime control and governance discipline. Adelabu also urged party members to prioritize reconciliation and unity ahead of the 2027 elections in order to reclaim power in the state. Ajimobi passed away on June 25, 2020, at the age of 70 after complications from COVID-19 while receiving treatment in Lagos.
