Tinubu made the statement during the commissioning of the Karu Satellite Town Water Supply Network and its surrounding communities, a project unveiled as part of activities marking the third anniversary of his administration. The President emphasized that the initiative reflects his government’s determination to extend essential public services beyond the city centre to residents in outlying communities who form a significant part of the FCT population.

He explained that the Renewed Hope Agenda was built on the promise of equitable development, stressing that governance must translate into real impact in the lives of ordinary citizens rather than remain concentrated within urban elite districts. According to him, the administration is committed to listening to the people, planning effectively, and delivering tangible results.

Recalling earlier infrastructure commitments, Tinubu noted that during the commissioning of the Abuja Greater Water Supply Project, he had directed that water distribution networks must extend into satellite towns rather than end in central districts. He said this directive was aimed at ensuring that communities hosting the working population of the capital also benefit from essential services.

The President further stated that the Karu Water Supply Project was promptly approved after it was presented by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, emphasizing that access to clean water remains fundamental to public health, dignity, and economic development. He added that swift funding was provided to avoid bureaucratic delays, enabling contractors, including CGC Nigeria, to deliver the project efficiently.

Tinubu disclosed that the project includes the installation of 194 kilometres of secondary and tertiary pipeline networks, designed to supply potable water to Karu, Orozo, Jikwoyi, Kuruduru, and other adjoining communities.

Commending the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, the President described him as “Mr Project,” noting that leadership should be measured by visible and verifiable impact rather than rhetoric or criticism. He added that the completion of the project demonstrates his administration’s resolve to ensure that governance delivers meaningful improvements in the daily lives of Nigerians, particularly those in underserved communities.
