Fake Wine Scandal: How A Secret Factory Was Arrested In Anambra For Producing Dangerous Fake Drinks
The Anambra State Ministry of Health has dismantled an illegal wine factory that was producing a variety of counterfeit alcoholic beverages, imitating genuine products.

In collaboration with the state paramilitary agency, Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA BRIGADE), officials arrested seven individuals at Nkpor, near Onitsha, and shut down their operations.

Reports from DAILY POST indicate that OCHA Brigade officers conducted a raid on the manufacturing site, which was known for mass-producing fake wines and other exotic drinks in the state.

The factory had reportedly been operating for years, churning out large quantities of counterfeit and unapproved wines for public consumption.

In a press release, the Anambra State Ministry of Health stated: “The operation was carried out by a federal government presidential task force in conjunction with the Anambra State Government to combat economic sabotage and oil vandalism in the region.

“Seven suspects have been arrested, and others are currently being interrogated to uncover additional syndicates responsible for the widespread distribution of fake products that have led to numerous health issues among the people of Anambra.

“The suspects have been arraigned and will face prosecution, with further efforts underway to apprehend others involved.”
