Fubara Denies Allegations Of Orchestrating Rivers Crisis, Claims Nwaeke Was Coerced To Lie

Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has refuted claims made by former Head of Service George Nwaeke, who accused him of masterminding the recent political unrest in the state. Fubara dismissed Nwaeke’s allegations, calling them baseless and laughable.

Nwaeke had previously credited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency for averting further chaos and economic sabotage in Rivers. In a statement issued on Saturday, Fubara strongly denied the claims, particularly the suggestion that he had secret meetings with Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed or militants. He emphasized that there were no such meetings and that his administration has consistently advocated for peace in the state. Fubara also accused Nwaeke of being compromised and claimed that the former official had been coerced to fabricate lies against him. He urged the public to disregard Nwaeke’s statements, describing them as part of a desperate attempt to discredit him and disrupt the peace process.
