God Is Not Man” – Diezani Breaks Silence Following UK Court Acquittal

According to Ireporter Online, former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, has reacted after being cleared by the Southwark Crown Court in London of multiple bribery charges brought against her by British prosecutors.

The former minister was on Wednesday discharged of five counts of accepting bribes and one count of conspiracy to commit bribery, bringing an end to a legal case that had lasted several years.

Reacting to the judgment, Alison-Madueke expressed gratitude to God, describing the entire legal process as deeply traumatic for her and her family. She said the ordeal had placed a significant emotional burden on her relatives, friends, and close associates, including her elderly mother in Port Harcourt and her son.

She further disclosed that she had remained in the United Kingdom throughout the duration of the proceedings, noting that she consistently maintained she carried out her official duties to the best of her ability while serving as minister.

Reflecting on the long-running case, she said she believed in divine faithfulness despite the challenges, stating that her experience reinforced her belief that “God is not a man” and that he fulfils his promises in due time.

Alison-Madueke, who served under former President Goodluck Jonathan, had consistently denied all allegations levelled against her throughout the trial. British prosecutors had accused her of receiving unlawful benefits from players in the oil and gas sector in exchange for alleged preferential treatment. The court, however, cleared her of all charges, effectively concluding the case.
