According to Ireporter Online, O’tega Ogra, Senior Special Adviser on Digital and New Media to President Bola Tinubu, has criticized the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, over his recent remarks on political responsibility and decision-making.

  reports that Obi, during a podcast interview with Nigerian journalist Rufai Oseni, stated that “If someone puts fire in my house, I will run and leave it,” while explaining his stance on navigating challenging political situations.

Reacting via his handle, Ogra said the comment reflects a lack of responsibility and an unwillingness to confront or resolve critical problems. He argued that true leadership requires accountability, resilience, and a commitment to fixing issues rather than avoiding them.

He further emphasized that leadership is defined by the courage to face challenges, resolve them, and accept the consequences of one’s decisions, rather than retreating in the face of difficulty. According to him, effective leaders remain in place to manage crises, restore order, and prevent future occurrences instead of walking away from them.
