You Action Was Barbaric” – Rarara Criticizes Davido Over FIFA Performance

According to Ireporter Online, popular Hausa praise singer, Dauda Adamu Kahutu Rarara, has accused Afrobeats star Davido of portraying Nigeria in a negative light following his appearance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup countdown concert.

Davido had attended the event wearing a jacket inscribed with “Bring Them Home,” featuring the names of abducted schoolchildren and teachers from Oyo State. The gesture, which was widely circulated online, was intended to draw global attention to insecurity issues in Nigeria.

However, reacting in a video shared on his verified Facebook page, Rarara condemned the move, describing it as inappropriate and damaging to the country’s reputation. He alleged that Davido’s action amounted to projecting Nigeria in a bad light before the international community, insisting that the matter was handled in a manner that lacked sensitivity to national security concerns.

Rarara further claimed that the singer’s action may have been politically motivated, suggesting it was linked to support for a relative contesting an election under the Accord Party, while also alleging an attempt to undermine the current administration. He argued that insecurity should not be used as a political campaign tool, warning that doing so could misrepresent the realities of national security efforts.

He also likened Davido’s gesture to publicly exposing a sensitive family issue on a global stage, questioning the intention behind the act. According to him, security matters require careful handling and should not be amplified without full understanding of the circumstances.

The Hausa singer further stated that the abduction of the Oyo schoolchildren occurred during a sensitive period of counter-terrorism operations, alleging that the incident was connected to the arrest of suspected terrorists. He maintained that security agencies were actively working to secure the victims’ release at the time of the incident being highlighted internationally.

Rarara also warned content creators against spreading narratives he described as potentially harmful to national security, alleging that some individuals are either politically influenced or motivated by social media engagement.
