Nobody Likes Your Stuff Anymore” — Brymo Tells Wizkid, Burna Boy & Davido To Quit Music
Nigerian singer Brymo has called on some of the country’s most celebrated music stars to give emerging artistes more room to thrive, arguing that the industry should embrace a new generation of pop talents.
According to reports, the singer shared his opinion during a recent interview on TVC, where he discussed the current landscape of Nigerian music and the continued dominance of a handful of established acts.
Brymo observed that conversations within the entertainment industry remain heavily centered on Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy, leaving younger musicians with limited opportunities to enjoy the recognition they deserve.
He maintained that the long-standing “Big 3” narrative has kept attention fixed on the same group of artistes, making it difficult for fresh talents to become the leading voices in the country’s pop music scene.
The singer argued that rather than criticizing younger musicians for lacking lyrical depth, industry stakeholders and fans should examine how veteran artistes continue to dominate public discourse and maintain their grip on the spotlight.
Expressing his view, Brymo said it is time for established stars to step aside and evolve, insisting that younger acts should be allowed to take over the mainstream space. He specifically mentioned Rema, describing him as the artiste who should currently be the undisputed biggest pop star in Nigeria.
He also questioned why conversations about the pop scene continue to revolve around names such as Wizkid, 2Baba, Olamide and Burna Boy, claiming that audiences are no longer as enthusiastic about their music and urging them to make way for the next generation of performers.
