Guardiola Turns Down Italy Job As Klopp Takes Germany Hot Seat
According to Ireporter Online, former Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has rejected an offer to become the next head coach of the Italian national team, opting instead to take a break from football management.
Football transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Italian Football Federation approached Guardiola for the role, but the Spanish tactician decided against accepting the proposal after careful consideration.
Romano reported that Guardiola turned down the opportunity as he prefers to spend more time with his family before making his next move in football.
The decision comes after Guardiola ended his decade-long reign at Manchester City, where he built one of the most successful managerial eras in the club’s history.
Since arriving at the Etihad Stadium in 2016, Guardiola guided City to multiple Premier League titles, domestic trophies and the UEFA Champions League crown, establishing the club as one of Europe’s dominant football forces.
His refusal to take charge of Italy means the Italian Football Federation will now continue its search for a new manager capable of leading the national team into a new era.
Meanwhile, former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund boss Jürgen Klopp has returned to management after being appointed head coach of the German national team.
Klopp has agreed to a long-term contract that will keep him in charge of Germany until July 2030, marking the first major international coaching role of his career.
The German manager had stepped away from daily club football after leaving Liverpool, where he spent nearly nine successful years and transformed the Reds into one of Europe’s strongest sides.
During his coaching career, Klopp has earned global recognition for his attacking football philosophy, passionate leadership and ability to develop young players.
At Borussia Dortmund, he won consecutive Bundesliga titles and guided the club to the 2013 UEFA Champions League final before moving to England.
At Liverpool, Klopp delivered major honours including the Premier League title, UEFA Champions League trophy, FIFA Club World Cup and other domestic successes.
His appointment as Germany’s national team coach has generated excitement among supporters, who hope his experience and tactical ability can help restore the country’s status as one of the world’s leading football nations.
While Guardiola takes time away from the spotlight, Klopp begins a new challenge with Germany as he looks to build a competitive squad and lead the national team into a successful new chapter.
